In 2006, Continental Airlines celebrated its independence. For the first time since 1983, the carrier flew without an outside controlling shareholder. Continental launched nonstop flights to London/Heathrow from New York and Houston. It was the largest single-day international service expansion in the company's history. The new Heathrow flights were made possible by the Open Skies agreement between the U.S. and the European Union. Continental's Flight 28 departing from Newark Liberty International Airport was the first aircraft of the new-entrant carriers to arrive at Heathrow on March 30.
Continental Airlines relocated its headquarters to Houston, Texas, in October 1982 after merging with Texas International. Please try to contact Continental Airlines Customer Service directly prior to posting any complaints on this site.
